This 1948 Crosley CC Four three-door panel delivery utility vehicle was rebuilt and repainted in 2007 and is powered by a 44ci overhead cam inline-4 paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. The seller has owned the vehicle for three years and indicates that the drivetrain, lighting system, cooling system, and electrical functions operate as designed, with the vehicle offering driver-grade exterior cosmetics and newer upholstery with wood interior paneling. Finished in green over a saddle vinyl interior, this CC Four is now offered with a clear Illinois title in the seller’s name.
The first Crosley compact car debuted in 1939, by the mid-1940s post-war production ramped up with models including sedans, convertibles, station wagons, and sedan delivery variants. This CC Four Panel Delivery from 1948 was repainted green and accented by good-condition brightwork during a 2007 refurbishment. The seller notes that there is evidence of prior bodywork, the right front fender has a dent, and the body exhibits some corrosion, but overall finishes are driver-grade and show well from a distance. The glass is in good condition, the lighting operates as designed, and the body features sliding glass windows and a split rear hatch with a drop-down tailgate. Detailed photos showing specific cosmetic blemishes are provided in the carousel.
White-finished 12” steel wheels have bright hubcaps and are wrapped in tires with good tread remaining. Stopping power comes from mechanical drum brakes.
The two-seat interior is fitted with replacement saddle vinyl seat covers and black carpeting. The door panels and cargo area display newer wood paneling, and a newer AM/FM radio is installed.
Instrumentation includes a 70-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an ammeter. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 6,300 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller notes that the fuel gauge does not work.
The 44ci overhead cam inline-4 runs well per the seller, although it burns some oil. The electrical system is six volts, and the fuel system has been upgraded to an electric pump with a stainless-steel tank. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 3-speed manual transmission.
The cargo area features diamond plate finished to match the exterior and wood paneling on the sides and ceiling.
