This 1947 Ford custom two-door coupe is powered by a reportedly $7,000 350ci V8 crate engine equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor, ceramic headers, and a 4-core aluminum radiator, and sends power to its Chevrolet Nova rear end through a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission. Following a full exterior refinish under prior ownership, this coupe was relocated to California in 2011 and has been garage-kept by the seller since then. Equipment includes power steering, power windows, newer side window glass, a newer radio, a power-operated trunk release, and VDO gauges. Refinished in metallic burgundy over a gray cloth interior, this coupe is now offered with receipts and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The full-size Ford passenger car lineup received an all-new design beginning with the 1941 model year and saw cosmetic changes the following year. After a multi-year break in production for World War II, production launched again for 1946 with a new grille and widened hood. In 1947, the parking lights were moved below the headlights, the exterior moldings were changed, and a new ornament was introduced. This coupe has a rust-free body that was coated in metallic burgundy under prior ownership. The exterior finishes are glossy and accented with bright bumpers, grille, and handles. Features include a two-piece windshield, newer side glass, bright rocker moldings, and a dual exhaust system.
Polished aluminum aftermarket wheels are wrapped in Big-O tires. Steering is power-assisted.
The interior is equipped with gray tweed cloth buckets up front and a bench in the rear, all of which are color-keyed to the door panels, headliner, carpeting, and floor mats. The body-color dash is accented with chrome trim. Additional amenities include power windows, a radio, and a power-activated trunk release.
Modern VDO instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads approximately 5,700 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The aftermarket 350ci V8 was sourced from Summit Racing for a reported cost of $7,000. The seller reports it generates 290 horsepower and has been driven fewer than 1,000 miles since installation. Add-ons include an Edelbrock 650-cfm carburetor, ceramic headers, a serpentine belt, and a four-core aluminum radiator with electric fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission and a Chevrolet Nova-sourced rear end with 3.22 gearing.
Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
The sale includes receipts.

Can I see the car? I live in Monterey.
@krrrbc – The window cranks are the electric window controllers. Although the compressor and stubs are there no a/c inside. I have no running video but could provide if necessary. Please advise. ...
Yes if it’s not to much of a problem a running and or possible short drive vid would be nice. The finish outside looks pristine any noticeable chips scratches or dents? I see in one of the pics the plate or tag as it’s called down south is current. Lights ,horn, directionals gauges all work?
@Ericxb – Do you have any running videos? It says electric windows, do the window cranks suffice as the switches.? Pics show what appears to be vintage air connections stubbed thru the firewall ,and a ac compressor in other pics? Any answers would be help on bidding. ...
