The SL is based on an independent 4-link front and a 5-arm multilink rear suspension with anti-dive geometry supplemented with Active Body Control, which combines coil springs, electronically controlled hydraulic cylinders, and shocks to combat vibration, pitch, dive, squat, and roll. Steering is handled by a speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion setup.
