This 1971 Fiat 500L two-door is an Italian coupe that received recent work to the suspension, interior, and drivetrain. Power is sourced from a rear-mounted 500cc 2-cylinder paired with a 4-speed synchronized manual transaxle. The seller has owned the vehicle for eight months and carried out a tune-up in early 2022. Equipment includes a pull-back retractable fabric roof; `newer brake pads, shocks, and tires; and chrome brightwork. Finished in Bianco over a refurbished burgundy vinyl interior, this 500L is now offered with a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The Italian-built 500 Class A city car went into production in 1957 in two-door saloon and station wagon body styles. This rust-free 500L two-door from 1971 received a full repaint in 2017 in Bianco and is said to retain an accident-free, straight body. The bumpers are chrome-finished and the roof features a black fabric retractable top. The seller notes that there are blemishes shown in the photo carousel including a small dent on the tailgate, a crack on the driver-side rear, and another near the sunroof.
Factory 12-inch wheels with chrome caps are wrapped in new tires. The suspension received replacement shocks and the brake pads have been replaced under the seller’s ownership.
The interior was refurbished within the last two years with reupholstered burgundy vinyl seat covers and new red carpeting protected by rubber mats.
Instrumentation consists of a 130-kph speedometer with an inset fuel gauge. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 40K kilometers (26K miles), although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rear-mounted 500cc 2-cylinder engine is said to run well and received a tune-up in early 2022 by an experienced Italian-car mechanic as well as a replacement battery in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed synchronized manual transaxle.
