This 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova two-door hardtop is a performance-modified sport coupe powered by a Holley fuel-injected small-block rebuilt 350ci V8 paired with a 2-speed automatic transmission. This rust-free, rotisserie-restored Nova spent long-term residence in California and has been garage-kept under the seller’s ownership in South Dakota for six months. Performance upgrades include an aluminum radiator, fenderwell headers, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. Finished in red over a red cloth interior, this second-generation Chevy II Nova is now offered with a clear South Dakota title in the seller’s name.
The Chevy II Nova model joined the Chevrolet family in 1962 on the X-body platform as a compact car in sedan, hardtop, convertible, and station wagon variants. A subsequent restyle for the 1966 model year incorporated sharper styling, redesigned fenders, and vertical taillights. This Nova from the following year underwent a rotisserie restoration under prior ownership in 2018 and received a fresh coat of red paint. The body shows in good condition throughout, and brightwork is straight and clean for surrounding trim, a driver sideview mirror, and a dual exhaust system.
Chrome-finished 15” five-spoke wheels are mounted to newer 225/60-series BFGoodrich redline tires. Stopping power comes from drum brakes all the way around.
The interior was reupholstered at the time of restoration with red cloth low-back bucket seats, matched to the headliner, door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include a sport steering wheel and a glove box-mounted Clarion AM/FM/cassette head unit.
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge, a predominant column-mounted 8k-rpm tachometer, and a trio of auxiliary gauges mounted below the dash. A five-digit mechanical odometer tracks mileage, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rebuilt small-block 350ci resides within a fully detailed engine bay dressed with chrome accents. Upgrades to the drivetrain include fenderwell headers, a Holley Sniper EFI fuel injection setup, an aluminum radiator, a trunk-mounted 15-gallon fuel cell, and a line lock system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 2-speed automatic transmission.
