This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner two-door is a cosmetically and mechanically refurbished sports coupe powered by a 383ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This B-body Road Runner carries factory-correct badging and trim along with upgraded Magnum 500-style 14” wheels, a modern audio system, and a Sunpro tachometer. Finished in red over a houndstooth and black vinyl interior, this first-generation Road Runner is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Florida title.
The Road Runner model first came to market in 1968 on the Chrysler B-body platform as a two-door offered in coupe and convertible variants, and the 1969 model year brought subsequent changes to the grille, taillights, and side marker lights. This Road Runner from 1969 was repainted in red and the resulting body shows free of rust or major blemishes per the selling dealer. Surrounding brightwork is said to be in good condition, and exterior features include hood retention pins, quad headlights, Road Runner cartoon decals, and a polished-outlet dual exhaust system.
Magnum 500-style 14” steel wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. Steering is power-assisted, and stopping power comes from power disc brakes.
The interior conveys reupholstered houndstooth and black vinyl fold-forward bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, tied in with the door panels, headliner, carpeting, rubber floor mats, and padded portions of the dash. Materials are free of rips or tears per the selling dealer, and amenities include a modern AM/FM/CD radio, a Pilot steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a Road Runner decal mounted to the face of the dash.
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a column-mounted Sunpro 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 40k miles, although true mileage is unknown.
The 383ci B-Series V8 is topped by a chrome-finished Holley air cleaner and equipped with Mopar Performance valve covers. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
