This 1967 Pontiac GTO two-door hardtop is a restored and mechanically-sorted sports coupe powered by a 400ci V8 coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission. This GTO comes equipped with a Vintage Air HVAC system, woodgrain cabin trim, a center console, and Rallye II wheels on newer BFGoodrich redline tires. Finished in Blue Metallic over a blue vinyl interior, this first-generation GTO is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Florida title.
For its first two years in 1964 and 1965, the GTO was an option package on the Pontiac Tempest model. The name went on to become a standalone line for 1966 under model #242, leveraging General Motors A-body underpinnings and Coke-bottle styling. The following year, the taillights were revised to include four on each side and the grille was updated. This GTO two-door hardtop from 1967 was repainted Blue Metallic with red pinstripes, and exterior condition is said to be good for gloss, fitment, and straightness. Brightwork is corrosion free and features include stacked quad headlights, a hood scoop, chrome rocker moldings, and a quad-outlet exhaust system with angled finishers behind each rear tire.
Factory 15” Rallye II wheels with polished trim rings and Pontiac Motor Division (PMD) center caps are wrapped in newer BFGoodrich redline tires.
The interior is fitted with blue vinyl bucket seats currently covered in black covers, and a rear bench, aligned with the blue theme for the door panels and carpeting. The cabin is accented in woodgrain veneer for the dash and console, and additional amenities include a wood steering wheel, a Vintage Air A/C system, a passenger-side grab handle, and a radio.
Instrumentation is set within a woodgrain trim bezel and includes a 120-mph speedometer and accompanying gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. A five-digit mechanical odometer tracks mileage, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 400ci V8 has a four-barrel carburetor and carried a factory rating of 335 horsepower and 431 lb-ft of torque when new. The drivetrain is reportedly running well per the selling dealer, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
