This Q-code 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 SportsRoof was restored in 2011 and is powered by a 351ci Cobra Jet V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Features include power brakes, power steering, and a Trac-Lok differential. This Dark Green second-generation Mach 1 with a dark green vinyl interior is available now and comes with a Marti Report, the original window sticker, a specifications sheet, owner's manuals, a Coverking car cover, a fender cover, a Mustang VHS tape, a Ford Mach 1 hat, a 1972 Mustang shirt, uninstalled new floor mats, uninstalled trunk carpeting, and a clear New Hampshire title in the seller’s name.
In 2011, the body was restored and refinished in Dark Green (code 4Q). It features a color-keyed urethane front bumper and sports mirror caps, an aftermarket front chin spoiler, and a chrome rear bumper. The Mach I package offered two-tone rocker paint along with front and rear valances finished in silver with matching full-body Mach 1 stripes and Mach 1 lettering as seen in the additional photos in the carousel to the right. According to the seller, there is a cut on one of the vinyl stripes.
A set of 15-inch chrome Magnum 500 wheels are wrapped in Firestone Wide Oval raised-white-letter bias-ply tires.
The front buckets, fold-down SportsRoof-specific rear seat, and door panels are upholstered in dark green Corinthian vinyl with Ruffino vinyl inserts. The black dashboard with a dark green vinyl top pad and center trim houses the controls for the headlights, windshield wipers, climate system, and Custom Autosound radio. Features include a dark green 3-spoke Rim Blow steering wheel with a woodgrain grip, a dark green center console with a clock, a 4-speed manual transmission shifter with a Hurst arm and T-handle, and a storage compartment. Dark green carpet covers the cabin floor, including the cargo area. Black carpeted floor mats with a Mach 1 logo can be found in the front and rear footwells. According to the seller, new roof rail and door weatherstrips have been installed.
Vehicle instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer with a 5-place mechanical odometer reading 69,618 miles, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature gauges.
The engine is a 351ci Cobra Jet V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Blue stamped steel valve covers, an aftermarket Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4-barrel carburetor, a power steering cooler, and a blue and chrome closed-element air cleaner complete the engine.
This Mustang Mach I came from the factory with an independent front suspension and a parallel leaf spring-mounted solid rear drive axle with a 3.50:1 Trac-Lok differential. The full-length dual exhaust system's chrome tips exit under the rear bumper.
A Marti Report, the original window sticker, a specifications sheet, owner's manuals, green touch up paint for exterior and interior paint, a Coverking car cover, a fender cover, a Mustang VHS tape, a Ford Mach 1 hat, a 1972 Mustang shirt, uninstalled new floor mats, and uninstalled trunk carpeting will be included with the sale.
