This 1995 Volkswagen Kombi Bus is a largely-original, mechanically-sorted passenger van that originated in the Brazilian market and was subsequently imported to the United States, powered by a rear-mounted 1.6-liter flat-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. This Type 2 features a straight, rust-free body, interior curtains, and a roof-mounted luggage rack. Finished in khaki over a burgundy cloth interior, this Bus is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.
The Volkswagen Type 2 Bus has history dating back to the late 1960s when it was launched as a light-duty commercial vehicle with available body styles in passenger van, panel van, and pickup variants. The Type 2 iteration of the Bus was characterized by its one-piece windshield and larger overall exterior dimensions. This example from 1995 originated in the Brazilian market and was subsequently imported to the United States. The rust-free, straight body was recently refinished in khaki and features a step ladder at the driver side rear, providing access to a roof-mounted luggage rack. Features include white bumpers and chrome headlight rings.
White-finished steel wheels with hubcaps are wrapped in tires with good tread remaining.
The interior is trimmed with three rows of reupholstered burgundy cloth seats, including split benches for the first two rows and a solid bench toward the rear. Door panels are upholstered in matching material and contrasted by tan carpeting and a black dashboard. The rear cargo area is accessed via barn-style doors on the passenger side and features window curtains throughout.
Instrumentation is presented by a VDO 150-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 88k kilometers, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rear-mounted 1.6-liter flat-4 is said to be mechanically sorted per the seller. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transaxle.
