This 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is presented as a driver-quality, highly-original compact car with California blue license plates, a straight body, preserved interior, and a Panasonic tape deck. The rear-mounted 1.5-liter flat-4 is paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle and is said to run and drive well. Finished in two-tone khaki and brown over a black vinyl interior, this Beetle is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear California title.
The original Beetle compact economy car, known as the Type 1, was sold throughout the world as a two-door coupe or convertible beginning in the late 1930s. Cosmetical and mechanical updates were applied in the decades that followed, and in the 1960s the car received modified taillights, larger windows, and a curved windshield. This Beetle from 1967 is painted two-tone khaki and brown and has rust-free, straight body panels. Equipment includes chrome front and rear bumpers, fender-mounted marker lamps, and a manually-operated sunroof. The seller notes that the body displays some wear and blemishes consistent with age.
Steel 15” wheels with hubcaps are wrapped in Westlake Radial SP06 tires with good tread remaining.
The interior is fitted with reupholstered black vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, aligned with the color of the door panels and carpeting. Features include a wrapped steering wheel, a Panasonic AM/FM/cassette radio, a fire extinguisher, and a dash-mounted grab handle at the passenger side.
Instrumentation includes a predominant 90-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 66k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The air-cooled 1.5-liter flat-4 is said to run well per the seller. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 4-speed manual transaxle.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.
An $85 dealer fee will be added to the purchase price.
