Vehicle Story

This 1979 Ford F250 4x4 is powered by a 400ci small-block V8 engine backed by a manual 4-speed transmission. Features include new wheels and tires that reportedly cost a total of $3,000, four-wheel drive, dual fuel tanks, a spray-on bed liner, a factory built-in passenger-side toolbox, power steering, power brakes, and a variety of newer parts, including the carburetor, power steering pump, brake booster, and master cylinder. This recently repainted metallic blue F250 with a newer professionally reupholstered blue vinyl and cloth interior comes with receipts and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

The sixth generation of the Ford F-Series, otherwise known as "dentside" trucks, was produced from 1973 to 1979. This 1979 F250 was painted metallic blue three months ago, according to the seller, and now wears a 1973-1975 grille with round headlights. Features include a factory passenger-side bed-mounted toolbox, LED lighting, full-length cab and bed trim, wheel opening moldings, a sliding rear cab window with a new seal, folding chrome outer mirrors, dual gas tanks, and chrome front and rear bumpers. The seller states they have installed an aftermarket body-colored rock guard on the rockers. The interior of the truck bed has a black spray-on bed liner. The original steel tailgate has been removed and replaced with a Bully tailgate net.

According to the seller, $3,000 was spent on a set of aftermarket 8-hole 17-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 33x12.50 R17 LT Toyo Open Country R/T tires.

The interior is equipped with a professionally upholstered blue vinyl and cloth bench seat. Features include black door panels, full black rubber floor covering with Ford-branded carpeted mats, an aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, and an aftermarket radio with Bluetooth and hands-free operation. The seller states that the cab has received some new wiring and every switch and light works correctly. A video with further details can be seen in the carousel to the right.

An 85-mph speedometer with an odometer showing 52,617 miles and gauges for the fuel level, battery voltage, and coolant temperature are mounted in the factory instrument bezel. An aftermarket voltage gauge is mounted to the left of the main instruments. True mileage is unknown.

The power is provided by a 400ci small-block V8 engine backed by a manual 4-speed transmission with a granny low gear. Engine features include blue stamped steel valve covers, a blue and chrome open-element air filter, and newer parts including the alternator, voltage regulator, power steering pump, carburetor, plugs, and ignition wires. A video of the vehicle running can be seen in the carousel to the right.

This F250 pickup was originally equipped with solid front and rear axles mounted to a perimeter frame. According to the seller, a new muffler with dual exhaust pipes, new brake lines, and a new steering shaft and gearbox have been installed during their 1.5 years of ownership. Surface rust was treated with Ospho, a rust remover and protectant.

Receipts for all the work completed under the current ownership will be included with the sale.
