This 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible is a performance-built restomod that has been driven fewer than 700 miles since the installation of a 347ci V8 paired with a 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission. This F-body was built by the owner of a speed shop called East Texas Muscle Cars over the course of three years and for a reported original cost of $130,000. The seller states they spent an additional $6,500 on enhancements from a Kansas City tuning shop. The car features details such as an LS6 intake manifold, custom headers, a Holley Sniper fuel pump, Wilwood disc brakes, CNC-ported heads, and more. Finished in Pull Me Over Red with a white retractable top over a Parchment White vinyl interior, this first-generation Firebird is now offered with receipts, build documentation, a spare tire, a floor jack, and a clear Kansas title in the seller’s name.
Riding on the General Motors F-body platform, the first Firebird made its debut in 1967 with a streamlined look in two-door coupe and convertible body variants. Federally mandated side marker lamps were added in 1968. A facelift consisting of a new front end and additional cosmetic treatment was applied in 1969. This Firebird convertible from 1969 has a rust-free body that was taken down to bare metal and repainted in 2019 in Pull Me Over Red. The retractable top and associated mechanisms were replaced along with all applicable seals. The body features LED front lighting, a new front air dam, and a rear spoiler. The exhaust has been upgraded to a Magnaflow dual setup. Photos in the carousel show portions of the documented restoration process.
Cast-aluminum five-spoke 17-inch Year One Rally II wheels are wrapped in newer tires. The suspension uses Hotchkis front coil springs and a sway bar. Braking comes from Wilwood calipers and discs at all four corners.
The cockpit is fitted with replacement Parchment White vinyl seating matched to the door panels. The dash, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats are finished in black. Amenities include a center console with woodgrain trim and a JVC stereo with Bluetooth, an auxiliary input, a USB port, and new speakers.
Instrumentation is provided by Dakota Digital gauges with a speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The odometer reads 690 miles, although true mileage in the chassis is unknown.
The 347ci V8 with a Texas Speed & Performance short block has been upgraded with an LS6 intake manifold, PRC stage 2.5 LS6 CNC ported heads, a Torquer V2 camshaft, long tube headers, a 3600 stall converter, Hooker motor swap mounts, a Holley Sniper 340-lph in-tank fuel pump, and a Holley Sniper fuel tank. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted GM 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmission and a Moser 12-bolt rear end.
The sale will include receipts, build documentation, a spare tire, and a floor jack.
