Vehicle Story

This 1971 Chevrolet K10 4x4 was reportedly converted to a short-bed configuration under previous ownership and is powered by a newer V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Features include a reported $6,000 in repairs and updates from South County Auto Body in California, a tilt steering column, fuel injection, air conditioning, bucket seats, power steering, and power brakes. This metallic gray K10 with a red and black vinyl interior is available now and comes with receipts for service and restoration and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

The 1967-72 Chevrolet trucks are the second generation to wear C/K10 badging. This 1971 K10 was originally born as a long bed and has since then reportedly been converted to a short bed and refinished in custom metallic gray paint. Features include dual headlamps, a black grille, chrome front and rear bumpers, and aftermarket tube steps. The fuel tank has been removed from the cab and relocated at the rear of the frame under the bed and a custom fuel door has been added at the rear of the left bedside. According to the seller, the bed could use additional work and the original metal trim could use some attention as well. During the body restoration, rust was repaired in the lower corners of the doors and passenger-side doorpost by Sherm’s Auto Repair & Restoration of Lake City, Florida, the bed was given a spray-in liner, the hood underside was sprayed with a heat and noise barrier, and the door moldings were replaced. A video can be seen in the carousel to the right.

A set of black aftermarket Eagle Alloys 16-inch wheels are wrapped in 305/70/16 Toyo Open Country A/T tires.

The interior is furnished with late-model bucket seats and a center console upholstered in black with red inserts carrying over to custom door panels. Features include a 1990’s Chevrolet 4-spoke steering wheel on an aftermarket chrome tilt column, an aftermarket Pioneer CD player with remote, air conditioning, and manual windows. Black carpet with black carpeted Chevrolet floormats are installed on the cab floor.

A 100-mph speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level provide vehicle information. The seller reports there are 17K miles on the odometer, but true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

The power is provided by a newer V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. The seller states that the engine, brakes, and fuel system have received over $6,000 in repairs and updates at South County Auto Body in California.

This K10 came from the factory with leaf spring-mounted 4x4 front and rear axles and a full perimeter frame. Features include power steering, power brakes, and an updated fuel system.

Service and restoration receipts will be included with the sale, and a video is available for viewing below.
