1974 Mercedes-Benz 350SL 4-Speed

This European-market 1974 Mercedes-Benz 350 SL received major updates under previous ownership, including an engine rebuild, a new fuel injection system, new brakes, wheels, headlights, exhaust hardware, and more. The current owner took possession of the car in 2009 and since then has replaced the front grille and removed the body-color hardtop to discover the soft top was in reportedly unused condition. The cabin offers seating for four, A/C, power front windows, power brakes, woodgrain trim, and a Kenwood audio head unit. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V8 that delivers its power through a 4-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. Finished in blue with a tan soft top over a matching vinyl interior, this R107-series SL comes with a removable body-color hardtop, the uninstalled previous grille, other installed parts, sheepskin seat covers, hand tools, and a clear California title.

The car features a blue exterior accented with brightwork on the black Euro bumpers, wheel arches, sides, greenhouse trim, badging, and other components. Equipment includes a newer grille, newer Euro headlights, a C-shaped rear spoiler, and a newer stainless steel exhaust system with a pair of exhaust finishers that exit below the rear bumper on the driver's side. A tan soft top covers the passenger compartment and can be stored away to fit under a body-color hardtop, which was equipped with a new headliner under previous ownership. Scratches are visible on the passenger-side quarter panel.

Newer 14-inch Bundt wheels are surrounded by newer Michelin tires.

The cabin is furnished with tan vinyl seating for four, matching door panels, a color-coordinated dashboard, and newer carpeting. Features include A/C, power brakes, power front windows, manual rear windows, woodgrain center stack and center console trim, and an aftermarket Kenwood audio head unit.  

The VDO instrumentation consists of a 160mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge that includes readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The 6-digit odometer shows 76K miles, but true mileage is unknown.

Power is supplied by a naturally aspirated, fuel-injected 3.5-liter V8 and delivered to the road through a 4-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. Under previous ownership, the engine was rebuilt and fitted with a new fuel injection system, including the rails.

Other parts replaced under previous ownership include the front end, brakes, clutch, and shocks.

A removable body-color hardtop, the uninstalled previous grille, other installed parts, sheepskin seat covers, and hand tools will be included with the sale.
