Vehicle Story

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro performance coupe was the recipient of a frame-off restoration and harnesses power from a reportedly numbers-matching 302ci Turbo-Fire V8 paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. It comes with power brakes and steering, Z/28 badging, Rallye wheels, fog lamps, a dual exhaust system, and a center console with auxiliary gauges. Finished in yellow with black striping over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Camaro is now offered with the original Protect-O-Plate and a clear title.

The Camaro first went on sale in September 1966 for the 1967 model year and competed in the pony car segment. Chassis engineering utilized the General Motors F-body platform and exterior body styles two-door coupe and two-door convertible variants. The 1969 model saw changes to the exterior including new sheet metal for every panel except the hood and the trunk lid. This Camaro from that year was treated to a comprehensive frame-off restoration and repainted yellow with accenting black stripes. The body is adorned with Z/28 badging, fog lamps, a body-color front bumper, bright rocker moldings, rear quarter strakes, a urethane trunk spoiler, and a dual exhaust system.

Silver-painted steel 15-inch Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings are mounted inside of new BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter radials.

The 2+2 cockpit offers reupholstered and tear-free black vinyl fold-forward bucket front seats, matched to the door panels, dash, center console, rear bench seat, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Wood accents are featured throughout the cabin including the steering wheel rim and overlays on the dash and center console.

Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and a series of gauges at the top of the center console for the voltage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. A 5-digit mechanical odometer tracks mileage, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The reportedly numbers-matching 302ci Turbo-Fire V8 sits in a detailed engine bay and feeds power to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and a positraction rear end with 3.73 gearing.

The dual exhaust hardware is visible behind the fuel tank.

The sale will include the car’s original Protect-O-Plate and videos are available for viewing below.

AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 4/14/22 3:08 PM: The seller has provided photos of the requested number stamps and Protect-O-Plate, all of which now appear in the carousel.
