1956 Buick 50 Super

This 1956 Buick 50 Super sedan is finished in light yellow over a two-tone gray and yellow interior. The car was restored in 2012 by the previous owner, work included rebuilding the original 322ci V8 engine, carburetor and 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission. The exterior was refinished at the same time, while the interior later received new upholstery, headliner, and carpeting were done in 2018.  Features include air conditioning, electric fuel pump, power windows. power brakes & steering, and power front seats. Located in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, this 1956 Buick 50 Super is now offered for sale with a clean Arkansas title in the sellers’ name.

Originally finished in light blue from the factory, the car received a color change in 2012 to it's present light yellow and white finish. All chrome and trim are in good condition, free of any pitting. The fenders feature the trademark four "VeniPorts" while the hood ornament is partially recessed into the top. Additional design elements include a wrap-around windshield, "Sweepspear" side trim, and inward V-shaped tail fins.

The car rides on 15" steel wheels, powder-coated in red and fitted with original style hubcaps, and wrapped in wide whitewall tires on all for corners with a matching spare in the trunk. The tires were installed in 2012 at the time of restoration and a wheel bearing was replaced as well. The braking system consists of power-assisted drums, with service work including a rebuilt vacuum booster, new brake linings, restored wheel cylinders, and new brake lines.

The interior has been refinished with original reproduction pieces including two-tone yellow and gray vinyl upholstered seating and door panels, along with black carpet and new headliner, all installed in 2018. Other notable interior features include power windows, air conditioning, and electric front seats. The dash houses both an analog clock as well as the factory AM/FM radio, though neither car currently operable. The seller notes some pitting of interior chrome on the rear view mirror and lower dash, as shown in the gallery.

Behind the factory original steering wheel sits a horizontal speedometer measuring speeds to 120-mph. Other gauges include engine temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit analogue odometer shows 52K miles, with only 600 of those being added in 5 years by the seller.

Under the hood sits the 322ci V8 engine which underwent an overhaul in 2012. Rated for 255 horsepower when new, the engine received a rebuilt 4-barrel carburetor, a new distributor cap, new plug points, and spark plugs. In addition, two new radiator fans were installed, all hoses and lines were replaced with new ones, new fuel and water pump were installed, the generator was rebuilt, a new voltage regulator was installed along with a new air conditioning compressor. The 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission is original to the car and received an overhaul in the 2012 restoration as well.
