Vehicle Story

This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback is a Pro Street build with a fiberglass hood and trunk lid and a 460ci V8 upgraded with a four-barrel carburetor, Ford Motorsport valve covers, and a Weiand air intake. A Cheetah SCS shift mechanism controls the automatic transmission and sends power to a 9-inch rear end and a pair of Hoosier tires. Finished in black over a black vinyl interior with a roll cage, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Pennsylvania title.

The original Mustang pony car came to market in the mid-1960s as a two-door coupe and convertible, deriving chassis elements from its Falcon and Fairlane siblings. A redesign in 1967 brought larger exterior dimensions, concave taillights, side scoops, and other trim changes. This Mustang fastback Pr Street build from that year was repainted black and features brightwork for the bumpers, window trim, rocker panel moldings, and handles. The body has been upgraded with a sculpted fiberglass hood with retention pins, a chin spoiler, an open grille, a fiberglass trunk lid, and an integrated rear spoiler.

Polished aluminum five-spoke 15-inch Weld Racing wheels are wrapped in Hoosier tires at the rear. Chassis architecture includes a Ford Mustang II front suspension and rear coilovers. Steering is handled by a rack and pinion system. Stopping power comes from disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear.

The all-black interior is fitted with reupholstered low-back vinyl bucket seats, replacement door panels, newer carpeting, Ford-branded floor mats, and a padded roll cage. Options include a Grant GT steering wheel, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit, a fire extinguisher, a Speedway Motors brake bias dial, and a Cheetah SCS (Shift Command Shifter) gear selector with touch command gating. The finished trunk contains the fuel tank.

Auto Meter instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 10K-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and other vehicle systems. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 2,793 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The performance-built 460ci V8 has been upgraded with Ford Motorsport SVO Power valve covers, DOVE heads, a Weiand air cleaner, and a four-barrel carburetor. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear end.

@jgspringstead – Thank you for your reply. Does it come with a build sheet? Ad was pretty good and detailed on the cosmetics and chassis upgrades. More to the point was curious as to components used inside the engine. ...

@kitkat1 – With 10 being the best the paint job would be a 10! I can't say for sure on your question about replaced panels. This was a high end restoration the car is laser straight ,gaps are good and as I said the paint job is phenomenal. ...
