This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL is a European-specification grand-touring roadster that has been driven 93K miles since new and is powered by an M110 2.8-liter inline-6 paired with a factory 5-speed manual transmission. It comes with a body-color removable hardtop and features equipment such as a anti-lock brakes, ground effects kit, fog lamps, a Sony audio system, and color-matched wheel covers. Finished in Signal Red over a black vinyl interior, this Euro R107 280 SL is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Maryland title.
The grand-touring R107 roadster model joined the Mercedes-Benz family in 1971 and saw subtle changes to design language and equipment over its lifespan through the 1980s. This 280 SL from 1985 originated outside the United States and bears European-specification exterior equipment. The exterior is finished in Signal Red and features fog lamps, ground effects, a cloth soft top with a body-color tonneau cover, color-matched bumpers, bright accents, and a body-color factory hardtop.
Steel 14-inch wheels with body-color Mercedes-branded hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall tires. Stopping power comes from anti-lock brakes, which were exclusive to European R107 models.
The two-seat interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats tied in with the door panels, dash, console, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Woodgrain accents the Nardi steering wheel and the center stack and console. Additional equipment includes a Sony AM/FM/CD player and power convenience features.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, instantaneous fuel economy, and other vehicle systems. The 6-digit mechanical odometer reads 93K miles, which is supported by the CARFAX report.
The M110 2.8-liter inline-6 has Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 185 horsepower when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 5-speed manual transmission.

The CARFAX report has an initial entry dated September of 2000 and lists no accidents or damage on record. A color matched hardtop is included in the sale.
