This 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS is finished in black over a black interior and is powered by a 327ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Acquired by the seller a year and a half ago, the car has undergone a full restoration that included a bare metal respray and new interior. Equipment includes a stainless steel Flowmaster exhaust with side exits, 22" wheels, performance suspension and an upgraded audio system. Located in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, this Impala SS is now offered with a clean Ontario registration in the seller’s name.
Finished in black, the car was taken down to bare metal and bodyworked to ensure the car was as straight as possible before being refinished. All chrome was related, including the front bumper with an optional upper bumper guard. Additionally, all the emblems were replaced, stainless trim polished, and new rubber seals were installed. Dual antennas were installed on the rear quarter panels, additional features include dual headlights, chrome gas door trim, and faux chrome vents on the fenders.
Aftermarket 5-spoke chrome 22” wheels with Nexen 265/30 tires fitted to all four corners. The braking system has been upgraded with power-assisted discs in the front and new drums in the rear. The suspension utilizes 2” drop spindles in the front in combination with new shocks and springs for a lower stance. The rear features new shocks with lowering springs, while sway bars were added front and rear.
The interior features all-new black vinyl bucket seats with matching door panels, carpet, and headliner, all from Ciadella Interiors. A center console is mounted between the front seats, and houses the polished Hurst shifter, surrounded by a metal trim plate with an "SS" emblem. A vintage look radio was installed with Bluetooth audio and auxiliary inputs, while new speakers were installed in the dash, kick panels, and rear shelf. The trunk houses two 12" Alpine Baseline subwoofers in a ported speaker box with a 750 watt JBL amplifier.
Instrumentation includes a horizontal 120mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm factory tachometer is mounted to a billet tilt steering column. A fuel gauge is located to the right of the speedometer, along with various warning lights and an analog clock, which is currently inoperable. Additional aftermarket gauges are mounted in a pod underneath the dash providing readouts for water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer reads 82k miles, of which about 1.5k miles have been added by the seller over a year and a half.
The original 327ci V8 engine was removed at some point prior to the seller's acquisition and replaced with a 327ci V8 rated at 300 horsepower sourced from a first-generation Camaro. Prior to installation, the block was bored .040" over and the crankshaft was ground .010" on the main and rod journals. The engine was rebuilt with reconditioned connecting rods, SpeedPro pistons, a Comp Cams 350hp camshaft, Cloyes timing chain, and rebuilt 882 heads. It is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission that has a new clutch, delivering power to a 10-bolt rear end housing 3.08 gears. Additional features include power steering, air conditioning, aluminum radiator, and long tube headers. The appearance has been upgraded with a chrome air cleaner and valve covers, polished intake manifold and master cylinder as well as billet hood hinges.
All body mounts have been replaced and a stainless steel exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and polished tips was installed. Additional photos showing the underside are provided in the gallery.
The sale includes a notebook of maintenance records and receipts for parts installed. Located in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada, this Impala SS is now offered with a clean Ontario registration in the seller’s name.
