This race-built 2007 Dodge Magnum station wagon was engineered as a special project for MoparMax Magazine in its early days and draws power from a 950-horsepower Magnuson-supercharged 426ci Hemi V8 mated to a 3-speed race-spec TH400 automatic transmission and a Ford 9” rear end. This Magnum was featured in a series of race events after completion and demonstrated ¼-mile finish times in the 9.6 to 9.7-second range, thanks to equipment including forged pistons, Competition cams, a Magnuson 2.3-liter supercharger, and polished aluminum cylinder heads. Finished in red with a Kirkey Racing seat on the interior, this Magnum is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear California title.
The Magnum five-door station wagon first came to market in 2005 on the Chrysler LX platform with final assembly taking place near Toronto, Ontario. Performance-oriented Hemi-powered variants were offered along with a variety of other trim and drivetrain options in the following years through 2008. This Magnum from 2007 was modified early in life as a dedicated race vehicle. The exterior finish is red and features a vented hood, black-housing headlights, fog lamps, color-matched sideview mirrors, and a sunroof. The vehicle was raced by Alex Rogeo and Jennifer Caputo-Armstrong and has documented race history with a 9.7-second quarter mile time at 140 mph in race tune specification. The sponsorship decals have been removed for a clean exterior finish with good overall paint quality.
Weld Racing 15” Drag Lites aluminum wheels are mounted in staggered Mickey Thompson tires, with ProBracket tires in the rear for traction optimization. Steering is power-assisted, and the suspension uses adjustable front coilovers, lightweight front spindles, Strange Engineering double adjustable struts, and a chromoly rear suspension. Stopping power comes from Strange Engineering disc brakes up front and Wilwood disc brakes at the rear, leveraging a firewall-mounted dual brake booster.
The cockpit was customized for weight reduction and has been fitted with a Kirkey Racing race seat, G-Force Racing six-point racing harnesses, and an RPM Rollbars powder-coated eight-point tubular rollcage with removable entry. Additional features include tinted windows, a modified steering wheel, power windows, a Pro Precision double-neutral reverse shifter, and a shift light. A yellow-top Optima battery with cut-off switch is located in the rear cargo area.
Instrumentation is provided by a set of full custom gauges with a speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 69k miles.
The 426ci Hemi V8 was built, balanced, blueprinted, bored, and stroked by Arrington Performance and has a Magnuson supercharger. The powerplant has been rated at over 950 horsepower, and performance features include the following:
- Manley crankshaft and forged rods

- CNC ported and polished aluminum cylinder heads
- Magnuson 2.3-liter supercharger

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Westminster Performance TH400 3-speed automatic with a Reid NHRA-certified transmission case SFI, a ProTorque 5,200-rpm stall torque converter, B&M performance friction plates, an external transmission fluid reservoir, a Coan Racing transmission valve body, Coan ProMod sprag. The rear end is a Strange Engineering drag racing setup with 3.89-ratio pro gearset and a Strange locker. Additional equipment includes Driveshaft Shop 1,400-hp axles, a custom 4” carbon fiber driveshaft with 1350 U-joints, and an NHRA-legal driveshaft loop.
