This 1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit is a British luxury sedan that has been driven 80,255 miles since new and is powered by a 6.75-liter L410 V8 paired with a 3-speed GM THM400 automatic transmission. It has been in California long-term and was recently overhauled by a specialty shop in Van Nuys, receiving attention to the engine, suspension, and transmission. Finished in white over a dark blue leather interior, this Mark I Silver Spirit is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The Silver Spirit full-size luxury sedan went into production in 1980 in Cheshire, England with a design penned by Fritz Feller. This Silver Spirit from 1982 was subject to a repaint in white under the seller’s ownership in 2020. The exterior features a waterfall grille, a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, chrome mirror caps and window moldings, and black bumpers. One of the grille fins is bent, but the seller states that this will be corrected before the sale.
Steel 15-inch wheels with full covers are set inside of newer tires with approximately 1,200 miles on them. The seller notes that the steering is tight and the condition of the brake pads and rotors is good. The suspension uses a hydropneumatic self-leveling setup with automatic ride height and gas-charged shock absorbers.
The cabin is fitted with reupholstered dark blue power-adjustable Connolly leather bucket front seats, matched to the door panels, dash, center console, rear seats, and carpeting. Amenities include power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, and a modern radio with a remote Blaupunkt CD changer. The seller notes that the seat bottoms were reupholstered and photos show checking in the wood trim on the dash, wear on the left driver's seat bolster, and the necessity for refinishing the door sills.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, warning lights for various vehicle systems, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 80K miles, which is consistent with the last mileage figure entered on the CARFAX report.
The 6.75-liter L410 V8 underwent a mechanical overhaul under the direction of a specialty facility called Franco’s European in Van Nuys, California. Work performed during the engine-out service includes the replacement of the rings, rod bearings, main bearings, gaskets, and seals, as well as a valve job and a cooling system service. In addition, the Bosch CIS fuel injection system was serviced at Beverly Laurel Automotive in Los Angeles. An upgraded electronic ignition system has been installed. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a recently serviced 3-speed GM THM400 automatic transmission.
The CARFAX report shows a vehicle history free of accidents or damage, with the first record in California dated March of 1991. The vehicle passed a California emissions inspection in April 2019.

As stated previously, the grille is being replaced. Since the AC condenser must be removed as part of the grille replacement, I am upgrading to a crossflow condenser and new receiver dryer such that the car will run R134a refrigerant.

From The Seller: As stated in the description the front grill on my Silver Spirit was in need of repair. I have since sourced a clean used grill and is in the process of being replaced.
