This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL roadster was manufactured in January of 1986 in Sindelfingen, Germany. It comes equipped with fog lights, 5-mph bumpers with guards, a fabric convertible top, a removable body-color hardtop, and chrome wheels. The cabin offers bucket seating for two, woodgrain trim, power windows, air conditioning, and a radio with a cassette player. Under the hood is a 5.6-liter V8 that sends power to the road through a 4-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Finished in gold over a tan vinyl interior, this R107-series SL is available now and comes with a car cover, a CARFAX report, and a clear Utah title.
The gold exterior is accented with bright trim in various areas, including the 5-mph bumpers, grille, wheel arches, side moldings, mirror caps, and window trim on the body-color hardtop. It comes equipped with fog lights, quad round headlights, a trunk-mounted third brake light, and tri-color taillights. The seller has posted an exterior walkaround video below.
A set of 15-inch chrome wheels and tires with black sidewall lettering connect the car to the road.
The tan interior features vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, center armrest, center console, and the lower half of the black and tan dashboard. Woodgrain trim is located on the dashboard, center stack, and center console. The footwell carpeting is covered with light brown aftermarket rubber floor mats. Features include automatic climate control, an AM/FM/cassette radio, power windows, and a locking glove box.
Instrumentation comes in the form of a 170-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel economy. The odometer currently shows 139K miles, but true mileage on the car is unknown.
The naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V8 with Bosch fuel injection generated 227 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque when new. It sends its power to the road through a 4-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels. The vehicle was tuned up and given a new oxygen sensor, battery, and other parts in August of 2021. A video of the engine starting up and idling is below.
Additional photos showing the condition of the undercarriage can be found in the gallery.
The first entry on the CARFAX report shows this car was reported stolen in California in October of 1986. A car cover is included with the sale of the vehicle and the seller reports that he can assist with vehicle transportation.
