This 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 3LT C8.R performance coupe has driven 215 miles since final assembly and is number 967 of 1,000 units produced as a commemorative IMSA GTLM Championship Edition. The limited-edition, like-new C8 receives power from a mid-mounted 6.2-liter LT2 V8 paired with a paddle-shifted 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic limited-slip differential. Equipment includes an optional axle-lift system, the Z51 suspension and braking package, and a customizable 12” digital gauge display. Finished in Accelerate Yellow Metallic over a Sky Cool Gray and Strike Yellow interior, this C8 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with a window sticker, literature, two key fobs, a factory car cover, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Florida title.
The eighth generation of the Corvette came to market in model year 2020 with design language penned by Tom Peters and included a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. Engineering features revolved around all-aluminum chassis architecture, prominent air intakes, and large side scoops. This C8 from 2022 is configured as one of 1,000 special C8.R editions and one of only 350 in this color combination, commemorating the IMSA GTLM race series and is further equipped with the Z51 performance package. Exterior finishes showcase the base Accelerate Yellow Metallic paint work accompanied by LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, Carbon Flash Metallic sideview mirrors, composite rockers, and special C8.R graphics on the rear quarter panels. A performance exhaust system is installed with quad outlets at the rear valence.
Aluminum black-finished 19” front and 20” rear five-trident spoke wheels are mounted to new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires sized 245/35 up front and 305/30 in the rear. As part of the Z51 package, this C8 comes with a performance-tuned suspension and offers firmer dampers and higher spring rates when compared to traditional base Corvettes. Braking is executed by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with yellow-finished calipers, and this Corvette offers an optional $2,260 front axle-lift feature.
The cockpit is fitted with heated, cooled, and eight-way-powered Strike Yellow upholstery, complemented by the dash, door panels, center console, and carpeting. Amenities include head-up display, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, a GPS navigation system with 8” touchscreen, front and rear cameras, keyless entry and start, a Bose 14-speaker audio system, and a performance data recorder. The plaque mounted between the seats indicates this example is number 967 of 1,000 C8.R Edition Corvettes for the 2022 model year, and the car is signed by one of the drivers in the race series.
Instrumentation includes a customizable 12” digital cluster with a predominant 7k-rpm tachometer, a digital speedometer, and readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure oil temperature, G-forces, and other vehicle data. The digital odometer reads 215 miles, which is a true reading per the selling dealer.
The mid-mounted 6.2-liter LT2 crossplane OHV V8 is directed through six different driving modes and was upgraded for model year 2022 with new injectors and a new fuel pump. This powerplant received factory ratings of 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a paddle-shifted Tremec 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic limited-slip differential.
The center speaker housing between the seats has a plaque denoting this vehicle as IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Edition car #967 and has been signed by the IMSA GTLM Championship #3 driver.
The CARFAX report lists no accidents or damage with a first owner reported in Lake Wales, Florida in February 2022 and no subsequent entries. The sale includes a window sticker, literature, two key fobs, a front license plate bracket, a brake cooling kit, and a car cover in a Corvette-branded duffle.
