This 1982 BMW 528E is finished in metallic black over red interior. Power is provided by a 2.7L inline-6 cylinder engine with Bosch fuel injection, backed by a ZF 3-speed automatic transmission. Features include BBS basket wheels, 4-wheel disc brakes, leather seats, and air conditioning. Acquired by the seller two years ago, it has spent the majority of its life in Pennsylvania and is now offered for sale with a CARFAX report on a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller's name.
The body has been refinished in black, with a metallic flake added in for a heavy sparkle effect. The E28 generation 5 series features brushed metal impact bumpers with brushed side trim. The front features dual headlights on each side with the traditional kidney grilles in the middle. A power antenna is mounted in the rear while a single exhaust tip is centered under the rear bumper. The CARFAX shows a damage report on January 18, 2020, the seller states it the vehicle was traveling at 5mph and no damage was done or repairs required.
The car retains the original 14" BBS basket wheels finished in silver. Dunlop SP Sport tires measuring 195/70 are equipped on all four corners and a full-size spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs all around.
The interior features bucket seats upholstered in Cherry Red leather with matching back seat and door panel inserts. The dash and door panel surrounds are wrapped in gray vinyl with matching gray carpets. The center console contains the shifter for the automatic transmission and switches for the power windows, which are currently inoperable. The factory ASI radio with cassette player is retained in the original location, above controls for the heating and air conditioning.
The instrument cluster contains an 85mph speedometer along with a 7k rpm tachometer. Gauges for fuel level and water temperature are located in the center along with various warning and information lights. Currently, the odometer reads 158k miles, 2k of which have been added by the seller in two years of ownership.
Power is provided by a 2.7L M20B27 inline-6 cylinder engine that utilizes a single overhead cam design with Bosch Motronic fuel injection. Designed to provide greater efficiency, the engine factory was rated at 121 horsepower and 170 ft/lb of torque when new. Transferring the power to the rear wheels is a ZF 3-speed automatic transmission. Per the seller, all service and maintenance is currently up to date.
The underside of the car was coated with a rust preventative early in its life. Additional photos available in the gallery.
Records of all service and repairs performed during the current owner's tenure are included in the sale.
