1996 Chevrolet Corvette

This 1996 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has driven 48,310 miles since new and is powered by an LT1 5.7-liter V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It was originally issued to Bill Jacobs Chevrolet in Joliet, Illinois and sold to its first owner in Lincolnshire, Illinois. Equipment includes six-way power seats, anti-lock brakes, a Delco Bose audio system, and dual exhaust outlets. Finished in Torch Red with a black cloth retractable top over a black leather interior, this Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with a window sticker, a build sheet, promotional materials, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Wisconsin title.

Using the General Motors Y-body platform as a foundation, the fourth-generation Corvette came out in 1984 with aerodynamic styling penned by Dave McLellan. The body used molded plastics and featured retractable headlamps as well as quad round taillights. This unmodified Corvette from 1996 is painted Torch Red and features halogen fog lamps, color-keyed sport mirror caps, an integrated third brake lamp at the rear, and rectangular dual exhaust outlets.

Machined aluminum 17-inch wheels are staggered in width from front to back and wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires. The C4 uses a uniframe-type chassis with an independent front suspension and a five-link rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and the steering system is a power rack-and-pinion setup.

The two-seat interior is fitted with black leather six-way power bucket seats, color-keyed to the door panels, console, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, a Delco Bose audio system with CD and tape players, a rear window defogger, cruise control, intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, and power door locks.

Instrumentation consists of electronic readouts for the speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 48,310 miles, which is in line with the mileage shown on the CARFAX report.

The 5.7-liter LT1 V8 was rated at 300 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque when new. It was serviced in October of 2021 with an oil change per the CARFAX report. Additional maintenance items include the replacement of the intake manifold gasket, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, and transmission pan gasket in 2017. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
