This 1950 Ford F-1 Pickup is finished in dark purple over a custom two-tone interior. The seller acquired the truck as an unfinished project in 2014, then completed a frame-off restoration in 2015 which included the installation of a Mustang II front cross member with power steering, wood bed, custom interior and more. Power is provided by a 347ci Ford V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor backed by an automatic transmission and a Ford 9” rear end. Located in Hacienda Heights, California and owned by the seller for 6 years, this F-1 pickup is now offered for sale with a clear California title in the seller’s name.
Finished in a dark purple, the exterior of the pickup received a full respray in 2015. Orange pinstriping accents the body lines around the bed, while the stamped "Ford" emblem on the tailgate is painted yellow for contrast. The truck features full-length running boards and side exhaust with polished tips. The hood features vents on the side and front while the 5-piece grille has been re-chromed, along with both front and rear bumpers. The factory headlamps have been upgraded with projector-style bulbs, while the taillights have been replaced with blue dot style pieces.
15” steel wheels are equipped with factory chrome hubcaps with red painted "FORD" script. Mastercraft Avenger G/T tires measuring 215/70 are mounted on all four corners. During the 2015 restoration, the front suspension was upgraded with a Mustang II front cross member, equipped with power brakes and rack-and-pinion power steering.
The interior features a custom two-tone bench seat upholstered in deep purple with tan inserts with magenta piping and seat belts. The carpet, headliner, and visors are upholstered in matching deep purple, while the doors are equipped with tan panels. The interior also features an aftermarket vintage-look stereo, air conditioning, and billet steering column with tilt.
The factory gauges have been upgraded with units from Autometer, housed behind a billet aluminum bezel. Included is a 120mph speedometer, as well as gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature and voltage. A vintage style 8k rpm tachometer is mounted under the dash to the left of the steering column, while controls for the aftermarket air conditioning are located under the center of the dash. The analog odometer reads just over 2,700 miles, which is believed to be the mileage on the truck since the restoration was completed in 2015.
The truck is powered by a 347ci stroker V8, built from a Ford 302 block. It's equipped with a Holley 600cfm 4-barrel carburetor, an Edlebrock chrome intake manifold and ceramic exhaust headers. The cooling system has been upgraded with an aluminum radiator and electric fan. Power is transferred through an automatic transmission and 9" rear end.
A new wood bed floor was added during the restoration, complete with polished locking strips and a matching wood storage compartment. A polished fuel door has been installed in the bed floor to access the filler neck for the relocated gas tank
