This restored 1965 Pontiac GTO convertible is powered by a 389ci tri-power V8 connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power brakes, and cruise control. Additional features include Vintage Air climate controls, Dakota Digital analog gauges, an AM/FM radio, a power convertible top, and new Regul tires. This Cameo Ivory GTO with a new black vinyl convertible top and a new blue vinyl interior is available now and comes from the selling dealer with an owner’s manual and a clear North Carolina title.
The body was refinished in factory-correct Cameo Ivory (paint code C) by the previous owner six years ago. Features include a new black power convertible top, chrome bumpers, quad vertical headlights, a split grille, a hood scoop, wheel opening and rocker moldings, and dual taillights.
A set of silver Pontiac Rally I steel wheels with chrome hub caps and stainless trim rings are wrapped in new Regul Sport Challenger raised-white-letter tires.
The front buckets seats, matching rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in new blue vinyl. Features include blue carpet with blue carpeted floor mats, a center console, seat belts, manual windows, power steering and brakes, a tilt steering column, and cruise control. Additional features include Vintage Air climate controls, an AM/FM radio, an aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel with woodgrain trim, and a blue dashboard with a blue top pad.
The set of analog Dakota Digital VHX-series instruments includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, a digital clock, and gauges for the oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer reads 8,300 miles, which reflects the mileage accumulated since the restoration was finished. The true mileage on the car is unknown.
Power is provided by a 389ci V8 with tri-power intake and processed by an aftermarket 4-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include power steering and brakes, an aluminum radiator, air conditioning, chrome open-element air cleaners, and chrome valve covers.
This GTO was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Stopping is handled by 4-wheel drum brakes. The floors, frame, and suspension are matte black. Additional photos can be seen in the carousel to the right.
An owner’s manual is included with the sale.
