This 1978 Jeep CJ-5 with a fiberglass replacement body tub was built approximately 30 years ago and is powered by a 232ci inline-6 backed by a 3-speed manual transmission and a four-wheel-drive transfer case. Features include four-wheel drive, removable canvas doors, a canvas soft top, aftermarket wheels, a roll bar, a trailer hitch receiver, a rear-mounted spare, power steering, and manual brakes. This metallic green CJ-5 with a gray vinyl interior is available now and comes with uninstalled additional parts and a clear Ohio title.
The original body of this CJ-5 has been replaced with a fiberglass body tub and is finished in metallic green. Features include a reportedly as-new tan soft top, removable canvas doors, a chrome front bumper, fender flares, dual headlights, chrome hood locks, a rear-mounted spare with a black vinyl cover, a hitch receiver, and a folding windshield, and rocker sill covers.
A set of chrome American Racing saw-blade-style wheels are wrapped in 31" x 10.5" x 15" radial tires. The front wheels' center caps provide access to the locking hubs. The seller notes that the tires have good tread remaining but are old.
The front bucket seats and matching rear bench seat are upholstered in gray vinyl. Features include body-color sheet metal, gray carpet, a roll bar with gray padding, a center console with cup holders, vinyl floor covering, a floor-mounted manual shifter, and a four-wheel-drive transfer case selector. Additional features include a body-color dashboard, an aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo, power steering, manual brakes, electric windshield wipers, and a folding windshield. The seller notes that the emergency brake cable is not connected to the pedal as shown in the photos in the carousel to the right.
A 90-mph speedometer with integrated fuel level and temperature gauges along with readouts for the voltage and oil pressure is mounted in the body-color dashboard. According to the seller, there are 60K miles on the odometer, but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
Power is provided by a 232ci inline 6-cylinder backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include power steering, manual brakes, a battery, an orange valve cover, and a black air cleaner. A video of the engine running can be seen in the carousel to the right.
This four-wheel-drive Jeep came factory-equipped with solid front and rear axles. Additional pictures of the underbody can be seen in the photo gallery.
Uninstalled parts are included with the sale of the vehicle.

Thanks to all who are watching this auction- Just wanted to let you know that I will do my best to answer any questions or concerns you might have regarding this CJ5. This Jeep was refurbished to a very high standard. If you would like to view another vehicle that the owner built, we have his 1937 Chevrolet Master Deluxe currently advertised on classiccars.com. He did things right and it shows up close. We appreciate you taking the time to view our ad/auction. Mark
