1964 Volkswagen Beetle

This restored 1964 Volkswagen Beetle has been with the owner for eight years and is powered by a rebuilt air-cooled 1200cc flat-4 engine paired with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transaxle. Features include a wood-slat roof rack, pop-out quarter windows, dual side mirrors, headlight rock guards, and new manual disc brakes as well as new floor pans, wheels and tires, wiring, and weatherstripping. This black Beetle with a new red leather interior is available now and comes with a clear California title.

The exterior of this rust-free Beetle was refinished in an R-M black basecoat and clear-coated in approximately 2019. Features include a wood-slat roof rack, amber headlight lenses, chrome mirror caps, chrome bumpers with over-riders, pop-out quarter windows, a radio antenna, aluminum horn grilles, and all-new weatherstripping.

A set of new 15-inch 5-spoke EMPI Sprintstar wheels are wrapped in new radial tires.

The front bucket seats, matching rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in new red leather with diamond-quilted inserts. Features include red German carpeting, a suede headliner, black seat belts, a floor-mounted 4-speed manual shifter, an AM radio, and a 3-spoke aluminum steering wheel with a handsewn red leather wrap that matches the rest of the interior. The seller notes that no speakers are installed.

A 90-mph speedometer and gas gauge are mounted in the black metal dashboard. The odometer shows 63 miles on the new engine and restoration, but the true mileage is unknown.

Power is provided by a rebuilt 1,200cc engine mated to a rebuilt 4-speed manual transaxle. Features include a matte black doghouse with heater tubes, matte black engine tins, a single carburetor, and all-new wiring.

This Beetle is equipped with a torsion-bar front suspension and a rear swing-axle drive transaxle. Features include manual disc brakes, new floor pans, a powder-coated pan, a body-color underbody, and a front sway bar. Additional photos can be seen in the carousel to the right.
