This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in red over a red vinyl interior and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes aluminum intake manifold & heads, power antenna, reupholstered interior, new shocks, and a removable matching red hardtop. Located in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, this 1962 Corvette is now offered for sale on a clear Arkansas title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Roman Red, a factory-correct color for 1962. The fiberglass body features matching red side coves with simulated vents in the fenders. Both front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed and all other trim pieces are in good condition with no pitting or peeling. The 1962 Corvette features a "ducktail" style rear end, housing dual rounded taillights on each side with a cutout of the license plate in between. 1962 also marks the last year the Corvette had an actual trunk until 1982 when a hinged rear hatch was added for the final year of C3 production. The car is equipped with a matching removable hardtop only, a folding soft top is not installed.
American Racing five-spoke polished 15” aluminum wheels are fitted to radial tires all around. The car retains the factory drum brake setup, which has recently been serviced. The front suspension has also been recently serviced and new shocks installed front and rear.
The interior features bucket seats upholstered in red with matching carpet, door panels, dash, and center console. The factory radio has been upgraded with a vintage-look modern unit equipped with AM/FM and auxiliary input, in addition, the center speaker in the dash has been upgraded as well. A polished trim plate surrounds the shifter for the 4-speed transmission, while the dash center stack houses the controls for the air conditioning system as well as an analog clock.
Instrumentation includes a column-mounted 7k-rpm tachometer in front of a 160-mph speedometer, flanked with auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer reads 16k miles, of which about 100 miles have been added by the seller over two years of ownership.
Power is provided by a non-original 350ci V8 block that has been rebuilt and bored 0.40 inches over giving it a displacement of approximately 357ci. During the rebuild, various performance parts were added included high-flow aluminum heads, a four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition, aluminum intake manifold, performance camshaft, long-tube headers, and dual exhaust. Power is transferred to the rear through a 4-speed manual transmission and 10-bolt rear end. Recent service work includes a complete tune-up in addition to the suspension and brake work mentioned previously.
