This 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible is powered by a 273ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission, both of which were rebuilt in 2015. Features include power steering, manual brakes, bucket seats, manual windows, an AM radio, and a power convertible top. This black Valiant with a white convertible top and a black vinyl interior is available now and comes with a broadcast sheet, the original purchase receipt from June 1965, repair receipts, an owner’s manual, a technical service manual, the removed original 13-inch wheels and hub caps, a metal Valiant Authorized Service sign, and New York registration in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in black with a manually-operated white convertible top with a plastic back window. Features include chrome bumpers, single round headlights, an aluminum grille, wheel opening moldings, rocker moldings, chrome mirror caps, and dual taillights with reverse lights. The seller states that the front end had collision damage that has been repaired.
A set of 15-inch slotted aluminum wheels is wrapped in radial tires. The removed original 13-inch wheels and hub caps are included with the sale.
The front bucket seats, matching rear seat, rear interior trim, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include a floor-mounted automatic shifter, black carpeting, power steering, manual brakes, an AM radio, manual windows, and seat belts. According to the seller, the left and right kick panels are not included with the sale. Additionally, the radio, heater fan, and dash lights do not work, and the antenna has been disconnected but is included.
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, alternator, and coolant temperature are mounted in a panel ahead of the driver. The 5-digit odometer shows 85K miles, though true mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a rebuilt carbureted 273ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Both were rebuilt in 2015 and have logged less than 300 miles. Underhood features include red engine paint, an electric windshield washer, a closed-element air filter, a battery with a master disconnect, and power steering. The seller notes the choke is not working, but the car runs well without it and adds that the oil pan bolts may need tightening due to an occasional oil drip. A walk-around video of the car with the engine running can be seen in the carousel to the right.
This unibody convertible was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A single exhaust system ends at the rear of the car. Additional photos can be seen in the carousel to the right.
A broadcast sheet, the original purchase receipt from June 1965, repair receipts, an owner’s manual, a technical service manual, the removed original 13-inch wheels and hub caps, a metal Valiant Authorized Service sign, and some miscellaneous parts are included with the sale of the vehicle.

@Dartmanjeff Jeff...I spoke with owner of "Hocanson Speed & Power" last year Re: Front damage and her "smirk smile" in the grille. They rebuilt engine, trany. He said a Plymouth dealer remembered her damage, "fender bender"?. I don't recall the dealer name or whether their body shop R &R'd it. The R.O.'s I have don't reflect a specific accident repair job. I added another pic of "Layson's Restorations" for other body restore parts/trims' invoice and pics of front grille and bumper bracket attachments. No rust on car, skins great, 2 tiny paint bubbles' spots on driver side top fender, appx 2" wide. Frame and bumper is solid, but bumper is not straight and even. It has not reduced car tracking, alignment or driveability. The Hocanson gentleman said he thought this Valiant was a good car. Hopefully, you can talk to him: Hocanson phone 419-299-3417. I'm in NYS, no Title, just transfer on back of Reg. Thank you for your interest!

@33Streeter – Does the seller have the kick panels and just not including in the sale? ...
33Streeter...No kickplates are included. Online and ebay have aftermarket replacements including modified with speakers if you upgrade the sound system. Or, a stiff cardboard appx 12"x8" painted black could be fastened on both sides. Not a complicated job. Thank You for your interest!
