This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is finished in Roman Red over a black vinyl interior and is powered by its original 327/340 horsepower V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car has been fully restored with OEM parts being used whenever possible and comes with a removable hardtop finished to match the body. Located in Garland, Texas, this C1 Corvette is now offered for sale on a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in its original shade of Roman Red with matching coves. All chrome components such as the bumpers and door handles have been replated while trim pieces like the rocker moldings and faux side vents were restored to as-new condition. The wrap-around windshield is free of any chips or cracks, and a matching removable hardtop is included in the sale, along with a rolling stand to store it off the car.
Factory 15” steel wheels are finished to match the body and equipped with polished hubcaps featuring faux spinners. The wheels are wrapped in Hankook Optimo 724 white stripe tires on all four corners.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats with matching dash, carpet, and door panels. A metal trim plate in the center of the dashboard surrounds the factory push-button Wonder Bar AM radio and an analog clock, while an additional trim plate surrounds a polished shifter for the manual transmission with the white shift knob. The trunk is equipped with a factory-style rubber matt and houses the spare tire and tools.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames the instrumentation, which includes a 160-mph speedometer and is accompanied by a column-mounted 7k-rpm tachometer. Accompanying gauges include fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer reads 52k miles, although true miles are unknown.
The 327ci V8 is original to the car and is rated at 340 hp. It retains many correct factory components such as finned aluminum valve covers, chrome air cleaner, aluminum intake manifold, and Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetor. During the restoration, usage of factory correct hardware and other parts was heavily emphasized. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission.
The car's underside was fully restored to original condition, with all components being replated or resprayed. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.
The sale includes the factory optional hardtop finished in Roman Red and a rolling stand to accompany it.
AUTOHUNTER ADMIN UPDATE 12/16/2020 11:08AM MST: Photos of the VIN plate on the steering column and engine block stamping have been added to the end of the gallery.

@TFassuliotis – Still awaiting answers to my questions if at all possible. Many thanks , Thomas Fassuliotis ...
they will add pictures shortly. the valve cover seam can be erased, no seat belts, I might have correct generator. the transmission is Borg Warner aluminum case. the car is a November 61 build so is probably unreadable.
