This 1989 Toyota Celica GT is an unmodified convertible that received a timing belt replacement service within the last year and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 paired with a 4-speed automatic transaxle. Equipment includes pop-up headlamps, a modern Clarion audio head unit, air conditioning, and power convenience options. Finished in red with a black retractable cloth top over a gray cloth interior, this fourth-generation Celica is now offered by the selling dealer with original manuals, the removed original radio, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Wisconsin title.
Offered as part of the Toyota lineup since the 1970 model year, the Celica was offered as a two-door sports coupe and a convertible in some of the subsequent generations. The body was completely reworked in 1985 when the Celica evolved into its fourth generation, sharing the T-platform at the time with the Toyota Corona. This Celica convertible from 1989 is finished in red and accented by black bodyside moldings, black door handles, and a black cloth retractable top. Features include pop-up headlamps, a chin spoiler, and a trunk-mounted third brake light.
Machined aluminum 13-inch eight-spoke wheels with Toyota-branded center caps are wrapped in 185/70 Kumho Solus tires.
The interior is furnished with two rows of gray cloth seats accompanied by charcoal-colored materials for the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, a modern Clarion AM/FM/CD stereo, power mirrors, power windows, and a center console.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 93,496 miles, which is supported by the CARFAX report.
The electronically fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline-4 received maintenance in the summer of 2021 that included the replacement of the valve cover gasket, oil pump seal, camshaft seals, crankshaft seals, timing belt, and water pump. The muffler was replaced in 2018. The oil was most recently changed in September of 2021. Power is sent to the front wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed automatic transaxle.
A variety of photos showing the underside of the car are available in the carousel to the right.
The CARFAX report shows a vehicle history that is free of accidents or damage. The sale includes the car’s removed original radio and original manuals.
