This 1947 Ford convertible street rod was chopped two inches and given a frame-off restoration 10 years ago. Power from the 5.7-liter Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine is delivered to the rear wheels by a 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission. Features include Posies Super Slide rear leaf springs, power front disc brakes, and Fat Man Fabrication power rack and pinion steering. Additional features include a Tanks, Inc. poly gas tank, Painless wiring, VDO gauges, Vintage Air climate control, and 17-inch Budnik wheels. This Anthracite Metallic Ford with a black Haartz convertible top and a stone Ultraleather interior is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
The exterior of this convertible was finished in Acura Anthracite Metallic. Features include frenched LED headlights, flush-mounted front turn signals, a shaved trunk with a flush-mounted third brake light and license plate recess, custom flush-mounted taillights, a 2-inch chop for the windshield frame and roof, and a black Haartz canvas convertible top with a glass rear window. In addition to the trunk, the fender trim, door handles, and hood ornament has been shaved. The doors open with poppers linked to the key fob.
Budnik billet aluminum 17"x7" front and 17"x9" rear wheels are surrounded by 225/55 front and 235/55 rear Goodyear Assurance radial tires.
The front seats, matching rear seat, trim, and door panels are covered with stone Ultraleather. Features include gray carpeting with gray carpeted floor mats, power windows, power brakes and steering, air conditioning, a column-mounted automatic shifter, a tilt steering column topped with a Budnik steering wheel, retractable seat belts, Vintage Air climate controls, and an armrest with cup holders. An Alpine amplifier with a custom 6-disc CD changer has been installed in the trunk.
The set of VDO analog gauges includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 11,741 miles have been logged since the frame-off restoration was completed 10 years ago.
Power is provided by a 5.7-liter Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine backed by a 4L60 4-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include a body-color smoothed firewall, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, a polished aluminum March Performance serpentine-belt accessory drive system, and a body-color Brassworks radiator with a matte finish.
The chassis has been fitted with a Fat Man Fabrication Mustang II-style independent front suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms with eliminated strut rods and power rack and pinion steering. The solid rear 8-inch Ford drive axle is equipped with a set of Posies Super Slide leaf springs. The underbody, chassis, and suspension components are finished in matte black and a Tanks, Inc. poly gas tank has been installed. A full-length dual exhaust system ends at the rear of the car.
