This Gibbons bodied 1937 Ford Roadster two-door has a cloth-covered removable hardtop, chrome Foose wheels, front disc brakes, a chrome plated grille, and a dual exhaust system. Its power comes from an upgraded Chevrolet small-block 350ci V8 with performance headers and an automatic transmission. Finished in two-tone red and black over a black vinyl interior, this Roadster is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Indiana title.
Ford updated its passenger cars in 1937 with a more rounded look when compared to prior models, adding a V-shaped front grille and faired-in headlights. This Gibbons fiberglass body from that model year was repainted two-tone red and black and features a removable cloth-covered hardtop. Equipment includes halogen headlamps in teardrop chrome bezels, a billet grille, vented fenders, a split windshield, shaved door handles, and a dual exhaust system out back.
Chrome-finished Foose wheels are wrapped in low-profile Falken Ziex tires. Stopping power comes from power front disc brakes with color-keyed calipers along with rear drums.
The two-seat interior is fitted with black vinyl buckets matched to the door panels and carpeting. The dash is color-matched to the body, and amenities include a chrome steering column, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, power seats, tilt steering and a heater.
Aftermarket instrumentation is presented within an aluminum bezel and includes a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The odometer reads 297 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The Chevrolet 350ci V8 is upgraded with performance headers and the engine bay is accented in chrome dress-up components. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted automatic transmission.
The car is equipped with a Ford 9" rear end, independent front suspension with rack and pinion power steering, and 4 link rear suspension with coil over shocks. Photos showing the color-matched underside are available in the carousel.
