This two-owner 1988 BMW 325i convertible has been owned by the seller for 25 years and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-6 paired with a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It was originally owned in Texas and was relocated by the seller to Florida, where it has been garage-kept. Features include a custom two-tone interior, a replacement top, a Blaupunkt stereo, and four-wheel disc brakes. Finished in red with a black retractable top over a black and red vinyl interior, this E30 325i is now offered with service records, an owner’s manual, repair manuals, a Blaupunkt stereo manual, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Florida title.
The E30 was introduced as the second generation of the 3 Series and came to life in 1982 with styling penned by chief designer Claus Luthe. A facelift was applied in 1985 and a major update was released in 1987 that brought a new front bumper, revised rear lights, and fewer chrome accents. This rust-free red 325i convertible from 1988 features a replacement black cloth retractable top, quad headlights, fog lamps, chrome bumpers, bodyside moldings, and a trunk-mounted third brake lamp.
Silver 14-inch bottlecap-style wheels are wrapped in newer tires.
The cabin is furnished with reupholstered two-tone black and red vinyl buckets up front and a matching pair of rear seats, tied to the black door panels, dash, console, and carpeting. Amenities include power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD head unit. The trunk contains a spare tire in a recessed compartment.
Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 133K miles.
The 2.5-liter M20B25 inline-6 was rated at 168 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque when new. The drivetrain is reportedly maintained by an independent mechanic. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Getrag 260 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The E30 3 Series came from the factory with MacPherson struts up front and a semi-trailing arm in the rear. Stopping power comes from anti-lock disc brakes. The seller notes that the power steering rack was replaced within the last five months with components from a BMW M3.
The CARFAX report shows no accidents or damage on record. The vehicle consistently passed Texas safety inspections through 2012, at which time it was relocated to Florida. The sale includes service records, an owner’s manual, a Blaupunkt stereo manual, and repair manuals from Haynes and Chilton’s.

@Vpn57 – Was clutch replaced and when How does the engine run? ...
Clutch has been replaced. Bushings in shift linkage, also. Engine runs like a dream and has been well maintained. I would be happy to give you the name and number of the mechanic who does all the maintenance. We are down sizing and will no longer have a garage to house three vehicles so we must sacrifice our Beamer.
@Vpn57 – How much tread is left on each tire. When were the brakes done last? ...
Tires are virtually new, they have less than 5,000 mikes on them.

@SmithyW – Does the odometer work? ...
No
Does the odometer work?
@Rippin – Does all of the power seats, windows, & convertible top work? Does the A/C blow cold air? When was the last engine tune-up? ...
The only thing automatic on this model are the windows and all are working. The a/c runs but is not great at cooling a rag top in the hot summer.
