This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado is a 54,000-mile, largely original convertible powered by a 500ci V8 paired with a newly-rebuilt 3-speed automatic transaxle. It comes from the final year for the convertible body style from its generation and features equipment including automatic climate control, power-adjustable leather seats, four-wheel disc brakes, and new whitewall tires. Finished in Calumet Cream with a power-retractable tan top over a tan leather interior, this ninth-generation Eldorado is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear California title.
The Eldorado name itself dates back to 1953 when it first debuted as a special version of the Series 62 sedan. Decades later, the model’s ninth generation was introduced in 1971 on the General Motors E-body platform, having grown two inches in length compared to prior models. The final year of the Eldorado convertible was 1976 when styling changes to the exterior included revisions to the grille and taillamps. This Eldorado convertible from that year is painted Calumet Cream (50) and has rust-free panels with solid bumper fillers. The body is reportedly accident and rust-free, and the tan power-activated convertible top functions as designed. Accenting features include quad headlights, body side moldings, and scripted badging on the rear quarter panels.
Steel 15-inch wheels with polished wheel covers bearing Cadillac crests are mounted to new whitewall tires. Stopping power comes from power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The interior is fitted with tan leather split-bench seating with a fold-down center armrest, matched to the door panels, curved instrument panel, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. The cabin is accented in woodgrain for the door panels, dash, and steering wheel, and features include power windows, dual power seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a power-closing trunk lid. An upgraded stereo is mounted beneath the dash, and the carpeted trunk contains a spare tire and jack. The selling dealer notes that the upper dash pad has a crack.
Instrumentation is shown via a sweeping 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 54K miles, which is reported by the selling dealer to be a true reading although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 500ci V8 has a four-barrel Rochester carburetor and received fluids under current ownership. Power is sent to the front wheels via a column-shifted 3-speed automatic transaxle that was rebuilt within the last 1,000 miles.

Ahhhh! The great Eldolongo. Reminds me of my 76 black Elsie. Super cool car to cruise in. I have considered bidding but I’m out of garage space and this beauty needs to be garaged. GLWTA
