1949 Jeep Willys

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored 1949 Willys Jeep CJ has been with the seller for 20 years and is powered by a Go-Devil 134ci inline-four engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include four-wheel drive, a convertible top, a tilt-out windshield, and manual steering and brakes. Refinished in Firefighter's Red over a gray cloth interior, this Jeep is available now and comes with restoration photos and documentation, and a clear Florida title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

During the restoration carried out in Colombia, the body was refinished in Firefighter's Red. Features include black front and rear bumpers, a color-matched grille, headlight stone guards, a red emergency light, a black-out light, a siren, a folding/tilt-out windshield, a black vinyl convertible roof, and an antenna mast. Additional features include a side-mounted spare tire, a rear-mounted jerry can, and side-mounted shovel and axe accessories.  

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of red steel wheels with front lock-out hubs is wrapped in off-road tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in gray cloth. Features include body-color steel metal, floor-mounted manual transmission and transfer case shifters, black carpeted floor mats, a three-spoke steering wheel, manual steering, and manual brakes.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 60-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage are located in the middle of the dashboard. With 150 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 41K miles but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Go-Devil 134ci inline-four engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include a remote oil filter, an original air filter, a single-barrel carburetor, and body-color sheet metal.  According to the seller, the oil was changed, other fluids were flushed and refilled, and a new fuel pump was installed in January of 2022 before the vehicle was imported into the U.S.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Jeep was factory-equipped with part-time four-wheel drive, a solid front axle, and a solid rear drive axle. During the restoration, the body floor was refinished in red and the frame and suspension components were refinished in matte black. Braking is provided by manual drum brakes.
