Vehicle Story

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray convertible receives power from a reportedly numbers-matching 327ci Turbo-Fire small-block V8 paired with a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission. It features redline tires, side-exit exhaust pipes, full gauges, and a center console. Finished in Tuxedo Black over a blue vinyl interior, this C2 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

For its second generation beginning in 1963, the Corvette sports car was rolled out with a design from Larry Shinoda that featured a long hood and hidden quad headlamps. In 1966, the front end was modified to include an egg-crate grille and a central hood emblem. This Tuxedo Black (code 900) Corvette Sting Ray convertible from 1966 features side-exit exhaust pipes and chrome brightwork.

Chromed 15-inch five-spoke wheels with knock-off caps are wrapped in redline tires. Steering is provided by a recirculating ball setup. The suspension uses a transverse leaf spring in the rear.

The two-seat interior has a twin-cowl layout and is fitted with blue vinyl low-back bucket seats split by a center console, along with matching door panels, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include a vertically mounted radio, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Corvette script-style badging, and wing windows.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 83K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The reportedly numbers-matching 327ci Turbo-Fire V8 has a chrome-finished air cleaner and can be heard running in the selling dealer’s video below. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission.

The selling dealer has provided a walk-around and driving video below.

@krainbolt – So, Rkhandan, the Tuxedo Black is the original color, correct? I'm asking because it doesn't seem like the factory would go with the blue interior combination. ...

Hello, yes its a rare code 900AA which is I believe the rarest that year, and the interior was originally blue Vinyl. This car retails for $80k range so we have a ways to go. This is a numbers matching beautiful driver. thanks
