This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible rides on a set of Magnum 500 wheels with BFGoodrich tires and has upgrades including Edelbrock Performer heads, front disc brakes, a two-tone interior, full gauges, and a custom center console. Power for this pony car is generated by a 289ci small-block V8 and sent rearward through a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Emberglo with a white retractable top over a Pony-package interior with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a convertible boot and a clear Oregon title.
The Mustang pony car first entered the marketplace in 1964 for the 1965 model year and shared a platform with the Falcon in the compact vehicle segment. It was offered as a two-door hardtop, fastback, and convertible during its first generation. This Mustang convertible from the following year has a clean body that is finished in Emberglo and topped by a manually-retractable white cloth top. The selling dealer notes that the exterior chrome and stainless trim accents are in good condition, and features include a billet grille and a trumpet dual exhaust system.
Magnum 500-style 15-inch wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
The two-tone Pony package interior is fitted with Emberglo and ivory low-back bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear. Amenities include a custom upholstered center console with dual cup holders, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, lap belts, chrome accent trim, and a Mustang-logo trunk mat.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 40K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The 289ci small-block V8 is upgraded with Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted C4 3-speed automatic transmission.
Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel. Steering is power-assisted, and braking comes from power-assisted discs up front and drums in the rear.
The sale includes a convertible boot.

@Coltbill – Was this a original 6 ylinder car? T code in vin , Do you have the original straight 6? Were the hubs changed to 5 bolt pattern? Thanks ...
Correct the pony was a T-Code originally. The original engine is long gone , now updated with the built V8. The car was converted to 5 Lug, with Power Steering, And Power Front Disc Brakes. Runs and drives very well and sounds awesome with the trumpet exhaust.

@irasales1 – I thought all Pony's had a power top, what happened? Is the top new & if so is the rear windown hard or soft.? Has this car been in an accident? Do the numbers match? Why is the mileage not known on the engine or chasis? ...
This was a 76B body style Factory Pony Luxury Interior Car. Not all Ponys had a power top. Top is in very good condition with no issues. The Rear window is Plastic, not Glass. I don't see any issues that indicate an accident. Without documentation, i can't justify any miles on car. Not matching numbers. Runs and Drives very strong built motor.
