This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am hardtop coupe has been cosmetically and mechanically refreshed and comes with new paint, interior parts, tires, glass, and more. The rebuilt 400ci V8 sends power to the road through a rebuilt automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Exterior features include fender vents, a shaker hood scoop, and a three-piece rear spoiler. Inside, the four-seater cabin offers power brakes and steering, front bucket seats, a tilt steering column, a center console, and a B&M shifter. Refinished in gold over a black and charcoal vinyl and cloth interior, this Trans Am is available now and comes with a clear Idaho title in the seller's name.
As part of an exterior, interior, and mechanical overhaul, the body was repainted gold with a gold and black Firebird graphic on the hood. Additional accents include T/A 6.6 labels on the shaker hood scoop, smaller Firebirds on the B-pillars, and Trans Am lettering on the trunk lid. The car comes equipped with quad square headlights, fender vents, body-color mirror caps, new glass and rubber parts, a three-piece rear spoiler, and horizontally ribbed taillights.
The black snowflake-style wheels with bright center caps are set inside of new tires with black sidewall lettering.
According to the seller, the interior is new. That consists of black vinyl and black and charcoal cloth bucket front seats, a pair of black and charcoal cloth rear seats, a black dashboard with engine-turned metallic trim and a tan glove box door, black door panels and carpeting, a tan tilt steering column and center console, and matching kick and rear panels. Features include power steering and brakes, a Grant GT steering wheel, a B&M automatic shifter, and an aftermarket audio head unit with a CD player.
Instrumentation comes in the form of a 6K-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, 100-mph speedometer, and readouts for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows 65,000 miles.
Under the hood is a rebuilt 400ci V8 with a body-color shaker hood scoop, ribbed valve covers, and blue spark plug wires. That sends power to the road through a rebuilt automatic transmission and the rear wheels. A start-up video is available for viewing.
This Trans Am rolled out of the factory with an independent front suspension and a solid rear axle.
