Vehicle Story

This 1954 Ford Customline two-door sedan went through a refresh that included a new coat of paint, a refurbished interior, new brakes, and a replacement master cylinder. It is powered by a 312ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and has been owned by the seller for about two years. Finished in Skyhaze Green over a matching reupholstered interior, this first-generation Customline is now offered with a rebuilt Florida title in the seller’s name.

The mid-range Customline model was initially introduced to the Ford family in 1952 as a full-size model that was offered in coupe, sedan, and station wagon variants. This Customline two-door sedan from 1954 was repainted in its original Skyhaze Green (T). Surrounding features include chrome brightwork for the bumpers, side moldings, window surrounds, driver sideview mirror, and dual exhaust outlets.

Body-colored 15-inch steel wheels have polished covers and are wrapped in good blackwall tires.

The interior was redone at a $3,500 expense in May 2022, receiving new vinyl upholstery that matches the exterior for the front and rear benches as well as the door panels. The darker green dash is accented in engine-turned aluminum across its face and features an analog clock as well as a radio.

Instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and two under-dash aftermarket readouts for other vehicle systems. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 65K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The 312ci V8 has a newer battery, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission. The underbody has been undercoated, and the four-wheel drum brakes and master cylinder were replaced under the seller's ownership.

This Customline carries a rebuilt Texas title. A spare tire is included in the sale of the car.
