This Rangoon Red Thunderbird Sports Roadster with a white convertible top and Pearl Beige leather interior is available now and comes with an appraisal, a build sheet, and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.
This 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster is a true factory build as verified by the 89 in the VIN and the 76B body code on the data tag. The exterior was refinished in the original Rangoon Red (color code J) under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers, quad headlights, a chrome grille, a hood scoop with chrome trim, chrome mirror caps, a white vinyl power convertible top with a plastic rear window, full-length midbody trim with integrated door handles, and dual rear taillights.
A set of chrome Kelsey-Hayes 48-spoke wheels with 3-spoke chrome spinners is wrapped in new whitewall radial tires.
The front bucket seats, rear seat, head rests, trim, and door panels are upholstered in Pearl Beige leather (trim code 54). Power features include the driver’s seat, windows, steering, and brakes. Features include a Swing-Away steering wheel, center console with locking compartment, gold carpeting with red rubber floor mats, air conditioning, and a column-mounted automatic shifter. Additional features include ribbed aluminum dashboard inserts, a passenger-side grab handle, an AM/FM radio, and a body-color fiberglass Sports Roadster tonneau cover. The seller reports the power windows are currently not working.
A 120-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer shows 839 miles, which reflects the mileage on the rebuilt engine. The car's true mileage is unknown.
Power is provided by a rebuilt Z-code 390ci V8 engine and backed by a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission. Underhood features power steering and brakes, air conditioning, a chrome air cleaner lid, Thunderbird-branded valve covers, and a coolant expansion tank.
This Thunderbird is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power 4-wheel drum brakes.
The seller will include a build sheet and appraisal with the sale.

Are there pics available of the under carriage? Is it as clean as the rest of the car?
Is the air conditioning working properly (i.e. blowing cold and holding it’s charge)?
We are repairing windows
Will the power windows be repaired ? Are there any other items not functioning properly ?

Show and cruise in ready. Paint shows very nice. Nicks and scratches are at a minimum and for a “driver”, it is very clean. There is another red T for sale in town at a very reputable dealer and it is 18k higher than the present bid and has inferior top, paint, interior and engine bay and it is priced right. If you follow a light source with your eye, you will pick up two soft indents in the trunk area. One is in the drivers side top of the quarter panel where the light hump is. The other is about 4 inches down from the rear window sill. It is very difficult to capture in a picture but again if you use a light source and “bob and weave” like Smokin Joe, you will pick it up. Send a guy out or come over for an inspection. Their will be no disappointment. The value for the price on this true Speedster is a bargain .
Talk to me about the paint on this car please. Any nicks, dents, scratches etc.? Is it small town car show ready?
BID: $24,500
@Johncoffee – Can we see the appraisal? Have you gotten an estimate on fixing the power windows? ...
Appraisal is added to the end of the gallery.
