Vehicle Story

This 1947 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery has several rebuilt parts, including the 383ci stroker V8, Weiand 6-71 blower, dual Holley carburetors, and TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive. The customized interior has reupholstered seating, a Pioneer sound system, and LED accent lighting. Finished in metallic blue over a newer gray vinyl interior, this Chevrolet is now offered with a matching hood and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

Chevrolet’s lineup of A-body sedans received Deluxe and Stylemaster naming conventions beginning in the 1946 model year. The following year brought slight revisions to the grille design. The Sedan Delivery variant with solid panel sides rode on a sedan-based chassis and offered an enclosed cargo area behind the front seats. This custom Sedan Delivery from 1947 was repainted metallic blue and comes with a matching hood. Exterior elements include chrome bumpers, shaved door handles, welded seams and rain gutters, a hitch receiver, and frenched headlights, taillights, and license plate. The seller notes that the driver's door latch needs adjustment.

Black 15-inch Summit Racing wheels are set inside of Hankook 195-series front and 235-series rear tires.

The cabin is furnished with newer gray vinyl upholstery that is free of cracking or fading, matched to the custom center console and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, upgraded accent lighting, and a modern Pioneer stereo system with a 7-inch screen and hands-free microphone. The carpeted rear cargo area is accessible through a side-opening door with an integrated bowtie emblem.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 4K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The rebuilt 383ci stroker V8 has been upgraded with a rebuilt Weiand 6-71 blower. Additional performance equipment includes dual rebuilt Holley carburetors, a replacement aluminum fuel tank, MSD ignition components, and electric exhaust cut-outs. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive. The seller notes that the last service was performed in August 2019, a different set of headers may be needed, and the coolant temperature climbs in traffic with the current single-fan setup.

The drivetrain uses a Jaguar rear end and the suspension has all new springs and shocks.

A body-color hood is included with the sale of the vehicle.
