This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL roadster is accompanied by a black cloth retractable soft top and color-matched removable hardtop. It is powered by a 3.8-liter M116 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and offers equipment including four-wheel disc brakes, an upgraded audio system, air conditioning, and embroidered floor mats. Finished in metallic silver over a gray MB-Tex interior, this R107 380 SL is now offered with an owner’s manual, spare keys, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
This metallic silver 1983 R107 380 SL comes with a color-matched removable hardtop as well as a black cloth retractable soft top. Equipment includes fog lamps, quad headlights, bodyside moldings, black bumper guards, and ribbed taillights. The seller notes that the paint has some blemishes. The photos in the carousel show the car with both tops in place as well as with the fabric top fully retracted.
Five-spoke chrome wheels are wrapped in Goodyear tires.
The two-seat interior is furnished with gray MB-Tex bucket seats matched to the door panels, center console, lower dashboard, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Amenities include woodgrain accents, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a newer audio system with speakers mounted behind the seats. As shown in the photos, the seats show some splitting in the bottom cushions.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and instantaneous fuel economy. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 162K miles, which aligns with the last mileage figure shown on the CARFAX report.
The 3.8-liter M116 V8 was rated at 155 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission.
Driving aids include a fully independent suspension, power steering, and power-assisted four-wheel disc braking. The seller notes that there is a slight power steering leak.
The CARFAX report shows vehicle history in California that is free of accidents or damage. The vehicle passed a California emissions inspection in September of 2020. The sale includes an owner’s manual and spare keys.
