Vehicle Story

This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera rides on a set of 16-inch Fuchs wheels on Cooper tires and is equipped with a JVC audio system and a power-operated sunroof. The drivetrain includes a rear-mounted 3.2 flat-6 backed by a Getrag 5-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Weissach Gold Metallic with black decals and body trim over a brown leather interior, this 911 is now offered by the selling dealer in Lebanon, Tennessee with an inspection report, owner’s manual, service records, a CARFAX report, and a clear Washington title.

This Weissach Gold Metallic 911 coupe features fog lamps, decals, color-matched mirror caps, and a rear spoiler. The selling dealer notes that there are some blemishes in the paint as well as sections that have been repainted. A 12-minute video in the gallery to the right contains a full exterior walkaround.

Black 16-inch Fuchs wheels are wrapped in Cooper tires. According to the selling dealer's inspection report, they need to be replaced.

The 2+2 interior is furnished with brown leather power-adjustable bucket front seats and fold-down rear seats, matched to the door panels, crack-free dashboard, center console, and carpeting. Amenities include a power-operated sunroof, power windows, and a JVC AM/FM/CD audio system with aftermarket speakers.

Instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, 7K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 154K miles, which the selling dealer states is an accurate reading.

The rear-mounted, air-cooled M930 3.2-liter flat-6 was rated at 202 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Getrag 5-speed manual transaxle. The selling dealer's video shows footage of the car being road-tested.

Stopping power comes via four-wheel disc brakes. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The CARFAX report states that this 911 was reported stolen in September 2017 in Washington but was subsequently renewed under the same title number in February of the following year. The sale includes an owner’s manual, service records, and an inspection report. A $299 documentation fee will be added to the purchase price.

@Jpfrazier – To Silverton68. I do not find that this post behooves anyone. The fact that the car was on EBay simultaneous was caught early on by AutoHunter, they contacted us and we quickly removed. In no way does this human error negate the ability to purchase the car on this site. The integrity of the car stands on its own as well as the integrity of the seller and this venue. ...

You knew what you were doing. Beautiful car and I would have loved to own it. Integrity of the car has nothing to do with the ethics of the seller. Unfortunately this happens far to often with these auctions. I will always call it out when I see it.

Sorry Guys, does not look like we are going to have numbers by the end of auction.I took the car in Monday for readings,I just caught the mechanic at his lunch. He stated the compression was outstanding and he would do leakdown when he returned from lunch, probably too late.If I get them before end of auction then I will post

Hi, Awaiting the leak down results. The compressions looked great, but older rings, valves, seats and seals are best assessed by leak down. Thx, RAB

@Sinansinanyan I believe the earlier 911 model, the 3.0 liter 'SC', had a known weakness in timing chain tensioners. Most SCs have been upgraded to what this 3.2 car had from the factory - hydraulic tensioners.

Beautiful Porsche. Should bring a good amount even with the high miles. These are great driving cars and the good looks make this a timeless classic.

@Jpfrazier – I could not understand the basis for asking if timing chain had been replaced In 45 years and thousands of air cooled Porsche trades I had never had to replace a chain.I went to internet,NO discussions about this .I went to my 45 year veteran Porsche mechanic and he stated that one does not replace the chain as they do not wear due to the design of engine ,the exception of course is if one does a complete tear down at 300,000 miles and one is rebuilding.we have no docs(there are plenty of tickets),no engine rebuild in historical docs. There is a compression test results at 152862 mikes.the readings were 170,170,168,170,170,170.we took the car in yesterday for leakdown test.We will share those numbers once we receive them ...

Thank you
