Vehicle Story

This 1993 BMW 740iL is an unmodified long-wheelbase German sedan that has been California-owned and has accrued 84K miles throughout its lifetime, receiving power from a well-maintained 4.0-liter M60 V8 paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Within the last year, it was treated to replacement components including a new water pump, valve cover gasket, and torque converter, along with fresh fluids and newer tires. Finished in white over parchment leather, this E32 740iL is now offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller’s name.

This 1993 740iL executive four-door sedan rides an extended wheelbase that is 4.5 inches longer than a standard 7-Series from the same year. The exterior is coated in white and accompanied by quad headlights, headlight washers, a chin spoiler, and black beltline moldings. The windshield was replaced in July 2022, and the seller notes that there are some blemishes on the exterior consistent with age and mileage.

Aluminum 15-inch wheels are wrapped in tires that were replaced within the last year.

The cabin is trimmed with power-adjustable parchment leather bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, color-matched to the door panels, dash, center console, and carpeting. The expanded-length interior is accented in woodgrain trim along with appointments including an electric sunroof, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control including rear passenger air vents, all-weather floor mats, and an aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth connectivity.

Instrumentation is conveyed through a 160-mph speedometer, a 6,500-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 84K miles, which is a true reading supported by the CARFAX report.

The 4.0-liter M60 32-valve V8 was rated at 282 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque and received a number of services under the seller’s ownership including replacement of the spark plugs, valve cover gasket, torque converter, water pump, thermostat, and flex disc, along with an oil change. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted and newly-serviced 5-speed automatic transmission. The transmission seals were replaced in December 2021 and the seller notes that the car is leak-free at this time.

Stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes that were replaced along with the rotors. The front upper and lower control arms, shock absorbers, and rear pitman arm were also replaced under the seller’s ownership over the last year.

The CARFAX report shows history free of accidents or damage. The vehicle most recently passed a California emissions inspection in September 2021.
