This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible was repainted and restored approximately 10 years ago under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers and trim, a red top boot, whitewall tires, and a continental kit. The 283ci V8 is equipped with dual 4-barrel carburetors and sends power to the road through a 3-speed manual transmission and the rear wheels. Refinished in Matador Red with a white fabric top over a red and silver vinyl interior, this "Tri-Five" Chevrolet is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear Colorado title.
As part of the restoration process completed in 2012, the body was covered with fresh factory-correct Matador Red (paint code 802) paint. That is accompanied by chrome bumpers, chrome and gold trim, dual side mirrors, a white fabric convertible top that fits under a red top boot, rear fins, and a continental kit. According to the selling dealer, the paint and trim are nearly flawless.
Red wheels with full covers, tri-bar center caps, and whitewall tires connect the car to the road.
The cabin has red vinyl seats with silver inserts and red carpeting. Silver metallic trim highlights the red door panels and dashboard. Features include manual windows and brakes, a column-mounted manual shifter, red Chevrolet-branded front floor mats, and a newer radio. The selling dealer reports the horn does not work.
Vehicle information is displayed on a 120-mph speedometer and coolant temperature and fuel level gauges. The true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
Under previous ownership, the 283ci V8 was given a pair of 4-barrel carburetors with a "batwing" air cleaner. Power is delivered to the road through a 3-speed manual transmission. According to the selling dealer, this car starts and drives well.
Several photos showing the condition of the underbody are available in the picture gallery to the right.
