This custom-built 1949 Chevrolet 5-window pickup is an older restoration with upgrades that include a multi-speaker sound system, a new front suspension, 15-inch aluminum wheels, a full color-matched tonneau cover, and a 350ci V8 crate engine coupled with a TH350 automatic transmission. It offers modern conveniences such as full gauges, Vintage Air air conditioning, and front disc brakes. Refinished in Fire Engine Red over a gray cloth interior, this Advance Design 5-window pickup is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Colorado title.
This 5-window pickup comes from Chevrolet’s Advance Design generation and was restored under prior ownership in the late 1990s. The rust-free body was repainted Fire Engine Red and comes with a chrome grille, headlight eyebrows, amber fog lamps, running board step plates, and a color-matched tonneau cover with hydraulic lift struts. The cargo bed itself has black planks and stainless steel hardware. The selling dealer notes that there are small paint chips in certain areas.
Polished aluminum 15-inch five-spoke wheels are set inside of tires with black sidewall lettering.
The interior is equipped with a late-model gray cloth split bench seat with a fold-down center armrest. Features include a banjo-style steering wheel, under-dash Vintage Air A/C, and an overhead console-mounted radio with Jensen speakers.
Instrumentation is housed in a custom dash and includes a newer speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and a trio of readouts at the top of the center dash. The true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
A 350ci V8 crate engine was installed during the restoration process approximately 20 years ago. It is fed via a four-barrel carburetor and features Edelbrock valve covers. Recent maintenance per the selling dealer includes reconditioning of the fuel system and replacement of the battery. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted TH350 automatic transmission.
This truck is equipped with a new front suspension, front disc brakes, and dual fuel tanks.
