This custom-built 1968 Chevrolet C10 short-bed pickup evolved through a multi-year restoration beginning in 2014 that encompassed work to the body, drivetrain, chassis, and interior. Power comes from a 396ci big-block V8 that has been upgraded with an Edelbrock intake, an MSD ignition system, and an aluminum radiator. Torque is transferred to the rear American Racing wheels through a new 4-speed 700R4 automatic transmission and a positraction differential. Refinished in black over a charcoal vinyl interior, this C10 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear New Jersey title.
This 1968 C10 comes from Chevrolet’s Action Line generation of full-size pickups and was repainted in single-stage black paint in 2016 at the conclusion of a multi-year restoration that focused on the body lines and panel gaps. The exterior was further customized with a billet grille, a cowl hood, side-exit exhausts, and flush-mounted Fesler glass for the windshield and the rear window. Upgrades include LED lighting, a replacement Chevrolet-embossed tailgate, and a relocated under-bed fuel tank.
Five-lug, five-spoke 17-inch polished-aluminum American Racing wheels are shod with low-profile tires with black sidewall lettering.
The interior of the cab was redone in 2015 and the bench seat was reupholstered in charcoal gray vinyl, matched to the door panels and offset by black for the dash and carpeting. The audio system has been modernized to an AM/FM/CD head unit.
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer along with auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. A five-digit mechanical odometer tracks mileage, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. This pickup has reportedly been driven approximately 500 miles since the completion of a mechanical overhaul.
The big-block 396ci V8 has been upgraded with an Edelbrock intake, an Edelbrock carburetor, an MSD ignition system, and an aluminum radiator. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a new floor-shifted 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and a rebuilt 31-spline positraction rear differential.
The braking system has been upgraded to power-assisted four-wheel discs with slotted and cross-drilled rotors. The suspension received new springs and shock absorbers as part of a refurbishment.
